I'm ready for you Spring!
As soon as the snow starts to melt and the days become longer, my little heart skips a beat. Spring is definitely the best season of all and I am SO happy it’s finally here. The past few months definitely dragged on, with seriously cold temperatures and zero desire to do anything. With all the positive change that is about to happen outside, I definitely want to carry those vibes into our home. I don’t make a ton of changes around our home season to season, but with spring I definitely peel back the heavy winter layers and am ready to let the light in!
I packed away our faux-fur throw until next fall and switched it out for the softest light wool blanket I found at Home Sense (obviously) to add a little brightness to our living room. Even on the hottest of days in the dead of summer I still need a blanket at all times, yes i’m that person hah. I also added a couple new throw pillows because i’m basic and wanted to change things up and add a little pattern to our living room.
Sometimes less is more and for now, I removed the throw pillows we had on our mid-century chairs. They are so beautiful on their own and I love the peeled back simplistic look for spring. Also, hey to the new leaves on our bird of paradise you are looking goooood.
Nothing quite says spring for our home as much as all the new growth on our plants! Especially our olive tree baby that I am so happy is still alive (not like my first olive tree) and thriving in this gorgeous hand made porcelain pot.
We regularly have an abundance of plants throughout our home (super necessary for our long winters) but, I still love to add some fresh florals to our space. I DIY-ed this “leather wrapped vase” (it’s actually vinyl) over the weekend as an homage to this much better looking and superior quality vase from Shoppe by Amber Interiors, that is just a touch out of my price range. My DIY cost about maybeee $5? Not too shabby if you ask me.
I’ve always wanted an umbrella tree and when Rona had this beauty for $25, I just had to get him. He adds the perfect little whimsy to this neglected corner in our bedroom and I can’t wait to watch him grow and fill out this area. Plants are so essential to our home. They provide a calm and organic feeling to our space that helps bring happiness to my day (almost as much as a cute dog bum).
Our master bedroom rug is from Wayfair and is a great price for an 8x10’ rug! Here is a round up of some home faves from Wayfair starting at $25! They are all amazing quality and could definitely be used to freshen up for spring!
Our spring home tour is part of the Breath of Fresh Air feature with other wonderful bloggers as well! If you are stopping in from the lovely Ashley’s home tour from Project Allen Designs, welcome!! I am in love with her bright and clean style. And make sure you check out Shawna next from Willow Bloom Home, she is full of amazing DIY’s and always has great florals!
